June 19, 2009
Los
Angeles, CA - Writer/producer/director Ken Sheetz announced today
that his critically acclaimed documentary series KIDS TALK POLITICS: A NEW PUPPY IN THE WHITE HOUSE
and the sequel, KIDS TALK POLITICS 2: OBAMA'S FIRST REPORT CARD, are both on sale at Amazon.com.
KIDS TALK POLITICS: A NEW PUPPY IN THE WHITE HOUSE (KTP 1) is about the
historic 2008 U.S. elections, from the point of view of 150 kids ages 8
to 12 years old from all walks of life, little Republicans and
Democrats alike.
Sheetz, co-produced and co-directed a similar show eight years
ago for the 2000 Presidential Elections. The show aired on PBS Prime
Time as the lead into the Gore-Bush presidential debate and was
selected as a "recommended Viewing" by The New York Times TV guide.
And the new documentary is receiving great reviews from the Los Angeles Times, Education Magazine, Scholastic
Magazine, La Parent, Reuters, POPTUB, CitizenTube the official political page of YouTube and KTLA THE CW Channel 5 in Los Angeles.
KIDS TALK POLITICS 2: OBAMA'S FIRST REPORT CARD (KTP 2) is about
President Obama dazzling first semester in office. And who better to
grade a president than grade schoolers fresh out of school for the
summer? Twelve-year-old host of KTP 1, Telana Lynum, returns for KTP
2, turning in a stellar reporting performance that puts most adult pundits to shame.
Kids talk about all the major issues that President Obama faced in his
first trying months in office. And there's political sketches, mixed
the with documentary material, giving a satirical look at how some
adults, in both the political scene and the media, are behaving more like
kids than kids!
KIDS TALK POLITICS would not be possible without private funding by
Chicago business leaders Jeff Joseph, Jerry Fogelson, Lee Golub, Rick
Cavenaugh and Steve Fifield. Says, Sheetz, "These great guys, most of
whom are pals from my days in Chicago's real estate world, have,
despite these tough times, proudly given American kids who can't vote a voice in their future."
